How we pick the Daily

Every Bloomword player gets the same puzzle each day. The selection is deterministic, curated, and built to give the week a rhythm without giving anyone a different board.

The week has an arc

The number of letters rises through the week:

• Monday and Tuesday use 5 letters.
• Wednesday and Thursday use 6 letters.
• Friday and Saturday use 7 letters.
• Sunday is the 8-letter marquee puzzle.

Your Practice difficulty setting never changes the Daily. On a given day, everyone receives the same letters.

Good puzzles start with real words

We do not roll random letters. Candidate sets come from full dictionary words, then Bloomword finds every valid shorter word those letters can make. A candidate must have enough familiar answers, multiple longer answers, and a complete anagram before it can enter the pool.

Duplicate anagrams collapse into one puzzle: EARTH and HEART use the same letters, so they cannot become two different seeds.

The sun adjusts to the board

Large boards need more thinking time. Bloomword sets the Daily clock from both the letter count and the number of target words, then clamps it between two and five minutes. A rich Sunday puzzle therefore gets more daylight than a compact Monday puzzle while the scoring rules remain identical for everyone that day.

Shared means verifiable

The day number maps deterministically to one approved seed. When a ranked result is submitted, the server selects that same seed and replays the submitted words and placement times. It only accepts a score that matches the public scoring rules.

That is the point of a shared Daily: one garden to compare, one fair clock, and no score advantage for paying.
